Leadership Training – Grades 7 & 8

Our experience indicates that a truly effective Leadership Training Program strives to develop knowledge and skills through the presentation of theory and the involvement of hands-on learning. Participation in regularly scheduled placements in a variety of areas at camp plays an important role as well.

We believe that our LITs (14 year olds) and our CITs (15 year olds) need to understand age characteristics, age appropriate activities, behaviour management techniques and motivational approaches to be successful. A mandatory 3 day retreat early in the summer, allow us to reach our program objectives.

We feel that the core elements of our program can be covered in 6 weeks. However, all LITs and CITs can benefit from a full 8 week program where they choose their own area of focus in the last 2 weeks of camp.
